Calling community and voluntary groups: grants now available to fund your ‘big idea’

Wirral Council wants to hear your thoughts

If you’re an individual or community group with a great idea for making a difference to your local area, Wirral Council in Merseyside now has funding available that might help get it off the ground.

Currently, the following funding is available through Wirral’s 11 Area Forums:

  • Funds for You- £15,500 per area forum
  • Public Health Fund- £4,577 per area forum
  • Empty Shops Fund- £17,500 per area forum (plus an additional £17,500 per centre for Bromborough, New Ferry and King Street/Brighton Street)

Funds for You and the Public Health Fund are small grants programmes for community and voluntary groups to implement projects and activities to benefit Wirral's communities. The Empty Shops Fund is available to community groups and ‘not for profit’ organisations to provide financial help to re-open or re-use empty shops. Examples include assisting with start-up costs for the re-use of shops or using the empty shops as information centres or as a base for exhibitions.

Application deadline is 9 September. See Wirral Council website for more details: http://s.coop/3ee5
