Cooperatives NorthWestCo-operatives North West is pleased to report at least 33 new co-operative businesses were incorporated between April 2009 and March 2010. All but a few have started trading.
Many new co-ops (indicated by * below) found it useful to attend networking events run by Co-operatives North West.
A third of new co-ops (indicated by ** below) gained funding for their incorporation costs through the 'advice and training' program of the Co-operative Enterprise Hub.
Some co-ops paid for incorporation costs from their own resources. Professional incorporation advice was usually delivered by Co-operative & Mutual Solutions and/or Co-operatives UK.
