Co-operatives NW encourages the development and support of new co-operatives across the region. Not all mainstream or social enterprise advisors have experience meeting the unique needs of co-operative enterprise, but there are several co-operative development professionals that do - see below for more details.
The Co-operative Enterprise Hub offers up to four days free support for new and existing co-operatives in the North West. Funded by the Co-operative Group, the Advice and Training programme enables co-operatives to receive expert support to develop as successful co-operative businesses. The programme is managed by Lancashire based Co-operative and Mutual Solutions, and involves several other experienced co-operative consultancies including Co-operative Business Consultants, SECOD and North West Housing Services. Support can include help with business planning, incorporation, feasibility studies, and governance advice. Groups can apply on-line at www.co-operative.coop/enterprisehub
